Woolworths seeks approval to buy New Zealand's Beak & Johnston to expand its food offerings.

Woolworths, an Australian retailer, has applied to the Commerce Commission for approval to buy Beak & Johnston, a New Zealand-based food manufacturer. The deal, if cleared, would let Woolworths expand its product range with Beak & Johnston's ready-to-eat meals, soups, and slow-cooked meats. The Commission will review the application to ensure the acquisition won't reduce market competition.
