UK adults invest the least in stocks and mutual funds among G7 countries, with only 8% of their wealth held in these assets, compared to 33% in the US. British wealth is mainly in property (50%) and cash (15%). Abrdn, an investment manager, suggests that UK investors could benefit from diversifying more into equities, which could potentially add up to £3.5 trillion to capital markets.
