Sekisui Chemical launches perovskite solar panel projects, aiming for 20 GW deployment in Japan by 2040.

Sekisui Chemical, a Japanese company, is launching pilot projects for perovskite solar panels in collaboration with MUFG Bank. The company recently set up a 100 MW production line for these innovative, lightweight, and flexible solar cells, backed by a significant investment from Japan's Green Innovation Fund. The technology aims to be the next generation in solar power, with Japan planning to deploy 20 GW of perovskite-based PV systems by 2040.
