Nigerian court allows governor to conduct state business with just three lawmakers, dismissing lawsuit.
A Nigerian court in Rivers State ruled that Governor Siminialayi Fubara can legally conduct state business with only the three lawmakers who have not vacated their seats.
The court dismissed a lawsuit demanding the governor present the 2024 budget to 27 other lawmakers, stating there was no legal requirement to do so.
The court also ordered the plaintiffs to pay N500,000 in costs to the defendants.
