Kenyan activists found alive before protests over 82 recorded abductions since June.
Two Kenyan activists, Billy Mwangi and Peter Muteti, were found alive just before planned protests against government actions. Since June, over 82 cases of abductions and forced disappearances have been recorded, with 13 in the last quarter of 2024. The police were instructed to report on investigations into these cases by January 1, 2025. The activists' release did not deter calls for the release of other missing individuals and an end to forced disappearances.
