Danish banks Sydbank and Danske Bank buy back shares totaling over DKK 6.7 billion by Jan 31, 2025.

In 2024, several Danish banks including Sydbank and Danske Bank launched share buyback programs, aiming to reduce their share capital in compliance with European financial regulations. Sydbank's program, worth DKK 1.2 billion, has already bought back over 3 million shares, representing 5.87% of its share capital. Danske Bank's DKK 5.5 billion program has bought back about 3% of its shares. Both programs are expected to conclude by January 31, 2025.
