Aldi saves UK shoppers £393 on average compared to Waitrose, named the cheapest supermarket in 2024.

Aldi was named the cheapest UK supermarket in 2024, saving shoppers £393 on average compared to the most expensive, Waitrose. A December list of 56 groceries cost £100.29 at Aldi, £101.48 at Lidl with its loyalty scheme, and £129.83 at Waitrose. The study by Which? included special offer and loyalty prices but excluded multibuys. Aldi and Lidl were excluded from larger shopping comparisons due to not always stocking all products.
