Scotland faces a dental crisis with millions not visiting dentists in years despite being registered.

Scotland is experiencing a dental crisis with over two million patients, including 177,318 children and 1.8 million adults, not visiting a dentist in the last two years. Over 80,000 children and more than a quarter of adults have not seen a dentist in five years. Despite 95% of Scots being registered with an NHS dentist, only 60% have visited one recently. The Scottish Government claims its investment supports high treatment volumes, but the Liberal Democrats are calling for improvements, citing accessibility issues.
