A fire on New Year's Eve destroyed the Whale Interpretive Centre in British Columbia, home to a valuable marine mammal skeleton collection.
The Whale Interpretive Centre in Telegraph Cove, British Columbia, which housed the largest collection of marine mammal skeletons in the province, was destroyed by a fire on New Year's Eve.
Founded in 2002, the museum welcomed around 10,000 visitors annually and its collection, valued at over $2 million, included a 20-meter fin whale skeleton that took years to clean and reassemble.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
