Alexis Scott-Windham, an Alabama-based Amazon employee injured in the New Orleans New Year's Eve attack, was initially denied leave by her employer. Amazon later clarified the mistake, offering her paid time off and support during recovery. The attack, carried out by Shamsud-Din Jabbar, left 15 dead and over 30 injured.
