Village in India pays tribute to former U.S. President Jimmy Carter after his death at 100.

An Indian village named Carterpuri, previously known as Daulatpur Nasirabad, is paying tribute to former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, who died at age 100. The village changed its name to honor Carter after his 1978 visit, during which he and his wife Rosalynn were warmly welcomed. Following Carter's death, villagers garlanded a framed picture of him and placed flowers before it. Carter's visit helped build strong ties between the U.S. and India.
