A man was arrested for reckless driving after he drove his car on a sidewalk near the U.S. Capitol on Thursday morning. U.S. Capitol Police officers spotted the vehicle near Peace Circle and arrested the driver. The bomb squad cleared the car, and nearby roads were closed. This incident occurred amidst heightened security in D.C., following the New Orleans truck attack and ahead of the state funeral of former President Jimmy Carter and the inauguration of former President Donald Trump. The man's name has not been released.
