Man arrested for attempting to steal a police-occupied car; passenger also detained.
A 38-year-old man from Irondequoit was arrested after attempting to steal a parked, already stolen vehicle with a police officer inside. The man drove about 75 feet before being stopped; no injuries were reported. He faces charges including assault on a police officer and reckless endangerment. A 32-year-old female passenger was also arrested for unauthorized use of a vehicle and had outstanding warrants.
