Indian para-swimmer Murlikant Petkar, the country's first Paralympic gold medalist, will receive the Arjuna Award (Lifetime) on January 17, 2025. Petkar, who won gold in the 1972 Paralympic Games despite suffering nine bullet wounds in the 1965 war with Pakistan, has long been overlooked. Director Kabir Khan and actor Kartik Aaryan, who highlighted Petkar's story in the film "Chandu Champion," expressed happiness over the recognition.
