Elderly couple killed in Kansas City car crash caused by illegal street racing.

Two elderly Kansas City residents, Diane Zugenbuhler, 72, and Verne Zugenbuhler, 91, were killed on December 30 when their car was struck by a black Chrysler 300 involved in an illegal street race. The crash occurred as the couple attempted to turn left from Wornall Rd. onto Carondelet Dr. The Chrysler driver was hospitalized with minor injuries. The Kansas City Police Department is investigating the incident and working with prosecutors to determine charges against the drivers involved.
