Nonprofit Vested Interest in K9s donates protective vests to police dogs, including two from Allegan County.

Two K9 officers from the Allegan County Sheriff's Office, Kyro and Zadok, will receive bullet and stab protective vests from the nonprofit Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., expected in about 10 weeks. The organization, which provides protective equipment to law enforcement dogs, has donated nearly 5,900 vests valued at $6.9 million across all 50 states. Each vest costs $1,800 and can be sponsored with a $1,050 donation.
