Michigan DNR extends antlerless deer hunting season to manage population in four counties.

The Michigan DNR has extended an antlerless deer hunting season from January 2 to January 12 in Berrien, Cass, Van Buren, and Allegan counties to balance the deer population and reduce overpopulation issues like car accidents and diseases. Hunters must have a license and wear bright colors for safety. Despite a decline in hunters, the deer harvest, especially of bucks, has been strong this year.
