Generation X now holds more property and share wealth than Baby Boomers, averaging $1.31 million in housing wealth.
A KPMG study using Australian Bureau of Statistics data shows that Generation X has surpassed Baby Boomers in property and share wealth, with an average housing wealth of $1.31 million compared to Boomers' $1.299 million.
Despite this, Boomers still have the highest overall net worth.
KPMG economist Terry Rawnsley says this shift is due to Boomers passing their assets, especially property, to younger generations as they pass away.
