Four Indian athletes receive the country's highest sports honor, Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award.
Four Indian athletes—shooter Manu Bhaker, chess player D Gukesh, hockey player Harmanpreet Singh, and para-athlete Praveen Kumar—have been awarded the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award, India's highest sporting honor.
Bhaker, 22, won two Olympic medals; Gukesh, 18, became the youngest World champion and helped India win a gold at the Chess Olympiad; Singh led the hockey team to two consecutive bronze medals; and Kumar won the T64 title at the Paris Paralympics.
The awards will be given by the President of India on January 17, 2025.
