China sets a new record with 100 Gbps laser data transmission from space, outpacing SpaceX's Starlink.

China's Chang Guang Satellite Technology Co has achieved a 100 gigabit per second laser data transmission rate from space to ground, a speed 10 times faster than its previous record. This breakthrough surpasses SpaceX's Starlink and could advance 6G technology and ultra-high-resolution remote sensing. The company plans to deploy this technology across all satellites in its Jilin-1 constellation, aiming to network 300 satellites by 2027.
