Alba Party's General Secretary resigns to allow new leadership under acting head Kenny MacAskill.

Chris McEleny, Alba Party's General Secretary, has announced his resignation to allow the new leader to run the party differently. With the sudden death of Alex Salmond, Alba's founder, acting leader Kenny MacAskill will lead the party until a new leader is elected at a March conference. McEleny, who plans to help Alba grow and lead its MSPs into the Scottish Parliament in 2026, expressed gratitude for his time with Salmond.
