India extends crop insurance to 2025-26, allocates funds for technology and affordable fertilizer.

The Indian government has extended its crop insurance schemes, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and the Weather-Based Crop Insurance Scheme, until 2025-26, allocating Rs 69,515.71 crore. Additionally, a Rs 824.77 crore fund for technology innovation was created to improve transparency and claim processing. The government also approved a Rs 3,850 crore package to ensure affordable Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) fertilizer for farmers. These measures aim to protect crops from natural disasters and support farmers' financial security.
