Eight Pakistanis sentenced to 20 years for smuggling 232 kg of heroin into India.

Eight Pakistani men have been sentenced to 20 years in prison by a special court in Mumbai for smuggling 232 kg of heroin off the Gujarat coast in 2015. The men were caught by the Indian Coast Guard and could not explain why their fishing boat carried commercial quantities of drugs and three satellite phones. The court imposed the maximum punishment under the NDPS Act, despite the defense's plea for leniency.
