China-Laos Railway boosts Pu'er's economy, increasing tea and coffee production and foreign trade.

The China-Laos Railway has revitalized Pu'er's economy in Yunnan, China, by boosting tourism and the local tea and coffee industries. Since its launch in 2021, the railway has shortened travel times to neighboring regions, increasing tea production by 5.65% and coffee by 26.44% in 2024. It has also improved foreign trade, reaching $850.5 million by October 2024, and opened new business opportunities in Laos and Myanmar.
