Astronaut Sunita Williams will see 16 sunrises on the ISS as her mission extends to March 2025.

Astronaut Sunita Williams and her crew on the International Space Station (ISS) will witness 16 sunrises and sunsets as they orbit Earth during the New Year transition. Williams, commander of Expedition 72, began her mission in June aboard a Boeing Starliner spacecraft. Due to delays caused by technical issues with the spacecraft, her return has been postponed to March 2025, extending her stay on the ISS.
