Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra has taken over as the Chief of the Indian Air Force's Western Air Command, which oversees security in the sensitive Ladakh sector and parts of North India. Mishra, with over 3,000 hours of flying experience, succeeds Air Marshal Pankaj Mohan Sinha after a 38-year career in various command roles. Mishra is a decorated veteran and has served as a fighter pilot and test pilot.
