UK warns British travelers to India they need a license for satellite phones or risk arrest.
The UK updated its travel advisory for India, warning British nationals to obtain a license before carrying or using satellite phones to avoid arrests. The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) also advises contacting the Indian Department of Telecommunication for necessary permits. Other warnings, such as avoiding travel within 10km of the India-Pakistan border and in Kashmir and Manipur regions, remain unchanged.
