Police in India arrest a gang led by Manoj Mandal for stealing and smuggling mobile phones.

Police in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, have arrested a gang led by 35-year-old Manoj Mandal, who stole mobile phones and paid his members a fixed salary of ₹15,000, plus free food and travel allowances. The gang targeted railway stations and markets, and upon arrest, police found 44 stolen phones worth over ₹10 lakh, along with a firearm and a knife. The stolen phones were reportedly sold to a cartel that smuggled them to Bangladesh and Nepal.
