Pakistani retailers defy price cuts, angering consumers by charging up to Rs120 for flour.

Despite the Pakistani government's attempt to lower flour prices in Karachi, retailers are still charging much higher rates, leading to consumer outrage. The official price for flour No.2.5 was reduced by Rs5 per kg, but consumers are paying up to Rs110-120 per kg, well above the new rates. The Karachi Wholesalers Grocers Association blames the lack of visible price lists and inadequate enforcement by authorities for the price discrepancy. Similar gaps exist for other food items.
