Former Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid, a leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was sentenced to 34 years in prison and fined Rs600,000 by an anti-terrorism court for threatening security agencies, the Chief Secretary, and the Chief Election Commissioner during a PTI rally. The court also ordered the arrest of Khurshid and the blocking of his national identity card. He was previously disqualified as Chief Minister in 2023 for using a fake degree.
