Nigerian court orders temporary forfeiture of $49,700 linked to former electoral official.

A Federal High Court in Abuja ordered the temporary forfeiture of $49,700 allegedly found at the residence of Dr. Nura Ali, a former electoral official in Nigeria. The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) filed a motion to preserve the funds, suspected to be proceeds of crime. The court mandated depositing the money into an escrow account pending further investigation and hearings scheduled for January 30 and March 31, 2025.
