Fire destroys Quebec site formerly home to artist Charles Daudelin, planned as a heritage site.

A heritage site in Quebec, formerly the home and studio of renowned artist Charles Daudelin, was destroyed by a fire. The vacant property in Kirkland took 40 firefighters five hours to extinguish. The cause remains undetermined but is not believed to be criminal. The province planned to designate it as a heritage site shortly after owners sought demolition permission. Daudelin was known for his art displayed in various cities including Ottawa, Montreal, and Paris.
