Financial struggles force breeder to surrender 11 Labradoodle puppies to the BC SPCA.

A West Kootenay breeder has surrendered 11 five-month-old Labradoodle puppies to the BC SPCA due to financial difficulties and inability to find homes for them. The puppies, bred southwest of Nelson, were handed over on December 19. Jamey Blair, a senior manager at the BC SPCA, confirmed the situation in a statement. The puppies arrived fearful and in poor condition but are being treated, vaccinated, and socialized, with adoption expected early next year. Donations to support their care can be made through a matching program up to $250,000.
