Colorado Springs firefighters quickly extinguished a two-acre grass fire near a Safeway on Monday, caused by a discarded cigarette. The fire closed Galley Road at Circle Drive but did not damage any buildings. With high winds and a Red Flag Warning in effect, the department warned of increased fire risks and urged residents to avoid discarding cigarettes or burning outdoors.
