Climate change threatens Canada's coastal lighthouses, with one relocated inland due to erosion.

Climate change is causing significant coastal erosion in Canada, threatening historic lighthouses. In Nova Scotia, the Walton Harbour lighthouse was moved 45 meters inland due to the eroding cliff, at a cost of $100,000. Research shows the shoreline is retreating by about 30 cm annually, with storms intensifying. In Prince Edward Island, 17 of the 61 lighthouses are at risk, along with over 1,000 homes and cottages.
