Peru's navy rescued about 30 fishermen who were stranded at sea for two days off the northern coast due to giant waves. The harsh conditions caused many boats to capsize and led to the closure of several ports in the Tumbes region. The rescue was accelerated as some fishermen couldn't wait any longer, and Defense Minister Walter Astudillo monitored the operation from a helicopter.
