Five Russian billionaires' chemical firms, sanctioned by the West, supply most explosives materials to Russia's military.

Reuters analyzed railway and financial data, finding that five chemical companies owned by Western-sanctioned Russian billionaires supplied over 75% of key chemicals to Russia's main explosives factories since the war in Ukraine began. The billionaires include Roman Abramovich and Vagit Alekperov. Despite sanctions, these chemical companies have largely escaped penalties and continue to support Russia's military production.
