U.S. Air Force members receive high honor for evacuating casualties in Kabul under combat.

Three U.S. Air Force members from the 914th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron received the Distinguished Flying Cross Award on December 8 for their roles in evacuating 11 casualties, including critically ill patients, during operations in Kabul, Afghanistan, in August 2021. The award, one of the highest for aerial heroism, recognized their exceptional flying skills and life-saving support under combat conditions.
