After a six-year campaign by LGBTQIA+ advocate Gordy Lockhart, Tauranga, New Zealand, installed a rainbow crossing on Devonport Rd. Approved in September by the city council, the crossing was set up on December 18, featuring the progress pride flag. While Lockhart is proud of the achievement, he is disappointed that the council did not hold an opening ceremony, making the success feel bittersweet.
