Study shows Canadian sex workers face less violence when allowed to work indoors and form relationships.

A study in PLOS One found that sex workers in Canada who can form relationships with peers and work in formal indoor venues have higher social cohesion and better access to support services. This reduces the risk of workplace violence. The research, conducted in the Lower Mainland, suggests that decriminalizing sex work could improve health and safety for workers, as current laws isolate and criminalize them.
