The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) will restore original train numbers for its 60 pairs of passenger trains starting January 2025, reverting to the pre-Covid system. This move by the Railway Board aims to improve convenience for passengers. The NFR, which covers northeastern states, parts of West Bengal, and Bihar, also announced safety upgrades including new switch point machines to enhance travel safety.
