Indian regulators found 111 drug samples substandard and two spurious in recent tests.

Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) found 111 drug samples "not of standard quality" in November, with 41 from central labs and 70 from state labs. These samples failed specific quality tests, but the issues were confined to the tested batches. Two spurious drug samples, made by unauthorized entities using brand names, were also identified. Regulatory actions are taken with state regulators to remove these drugs from the market.
