Survey finds 21% of Brits received unwanted Christmas gifts, with many disposing or repurposing them.

In a survey by UK consumer watchdog Which?, 21% of people reported receiving unwanted Christmas gifts. Common issues included unsuitable items like a burial plot and a toilet seat. Of those who received unwanted gifts, 31% disposed of them, while others donated, sold, or exchanged the items. The Post Office found that £232 million worth of Christmas gifts were returned in early 2023. A consumer expert advised getting gift receipts to facilitate returns or exchanges.
