Starting 2024, Colorado fines drivers $75 for weaving in express lanes to reduce crash risks.

Starting January 1st, Colorado will begin fining drivers who weave in and out of express lanes on specific highways, including Central 70, I-25 South Gap, and US 36 corridors. Fines start at $75, doubling if unpaid within 20 days. Over 23,000 warnings were issued during a 30-day grace period. The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) enforced this rule to reduce crash risks due to speed differentials.
