Ontario allocates $30M for equipment to protect firefighters from fire-related cancer risks.

The Ontario government is providing $30 million over three years to 374 municipal fire departments to support cancer prevention initiatives. The funding will help purchase equipment to protect firefighters from long-term health effects caused by exposure to cancer-causing chemicals and contaminants released during fires. In the Quinte area, ten fire services will receive up to $273,830. The investment aims to support firefighters who risk their lives daily to protect communities.
