Sydney braces for its hottest summer day with temps up to 37°C city-wide, 41°C in the west.
Sydney is bracing for its hottest day of summer on Friday, with city temperatures reaching up to 37°C and 41°C in western suburbs. The Rural Fire Service is on high alert due to extreme fire risks from dry conditions. Last week's heatwave saw Bondi at 34°C, Penrith at 41°C, Liverpool at 40°C, and Parramatta at 39°C. Weather bureau meteorologist Helen Reid noted the western suburbs are accustomed to such heat.
