South Korea's new FTA with the Philippines set to boost trade and supply chain stability.

South Korea's Trade Minister, Cheong In-kyo, announced that the upcoming free trade agreement (FTA) with the Philippines, to take effect next week, will boost South Korea's trade portfolio and supply chain stability. The FTA will eliminate tariffs on 94.8% and 96.5% of products for South Korea and the Philippines, respectively. It will also support South Korea's auto exports by removing tariffs on cargo trucks and passenger vehicles, and phasing out tariffs on eco-friendly vehicles over five years. This is South Korea's fifth FTA with an ASEAN member, following deals with Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Cambodia.
