Indian Christian group demands national inquiry into surge in anti-Christian violence since 2014.

A Christian advocacy group in India is calling for a national investigation into rising violence against Christians. Since the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party took power in 2014, reported attacks on Christians have surged from 127 in 2014 to 745 by November 2024. The group claims the actual number may be higher due to unreported incidents. This has sparked criticism from human rights groups, who accuse the government of failing to protect minorities.
