India to restrict low-ash metallurgical coke imports for six months, starting Jan. 1, 2025.

India will impose a six-month restriction on importing low-ash metallurgical coke, starting January 1, 2025, to protect domestic producers from rising imports. The restriction, which excludes high-ash coke, will require import authorizations from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) and will be monitored quarterly through electronic data interchange ports. Restrictions are set for imports from countries including Australia, China, Japan, and Russia.
