Genetic factors largely determine children's fussy eating habits, study finds.

A new study indicates that fussy eating in children is mainly due to genetics and remains stable from toddlerhood to early adolescence. Led by researchers from UCL, King’s College London, and the University of Leeds, the study found that genetic differences account for 60% of food fussiness at 16 months, increasing to over 74% between ages three and 13. Environmental factors like family meals are significant in early years but become less influential as children grow older.
